Marriage Equality Comes to Montana
U.S. District Judge Brian Morris has struck down Montana’s same-sex marriage ban on Wednesday, meaning a victory for American Civil Liberties Union.
The order to end the same-sex marriage ban was not stayed and takes effect immediately.
This makes Montana the last state within the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to adopt marriage equality. The state joins Idaho, Alaska, Nevada, and Arizona within that Circuit Court’s jurisdiction and judgement on same-sex marriage ban’s unconstitutionality.
