The 18th Annual Denver Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Business Awards were held on November 20th at Mile High Station. The event honored gay and gay allied professionals, businesses and organizations. Festivities included a silent auction, entertainment and dinner. This year’s award winners included Dr. Charlita L. Shelton, President & CEO of the University of the Rockies as Corporate Community Ally of the Year, Denver Clerk and Recorder Deborah Johnson as Individual Community Ally of the Year, Blush and Blu owner Jody Bouffard as Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year, John N. Roberts, a partner at Denver Investments as Entrepreneurial Man of the Year, Denver City Councilwoman Robin Kneich as Professional Woman of the Year, Out Front Publisher Jerry Cunningham as Professional Man of the Year and the Rose Community Foundation as the Non-Profit Organization of the Year.
