2012 election results roundup

Obama won big and so did Colorado Democrats, but there were also big moments in down-ballot issues, not least being marriage equality. Here’s a recap of the 2012 election results we know so far:

HeinzeSight: My boyfriend takes my prescription meds

I have an anxiety disorder and have a prescription for a medicine I take if I’m having a panic attack. My boyfriend doesn’t have anxiety but sometimes likes to take my pills for fun, always asking me for some, or sometimes just popping them when I’m not around. He’s not addicted or taking whole bottles, and I don’t think abusing this medication is much worse than using marijuana or for an underage person to drink alcohol. I just hate how he treats my disorder like a fun chance to get high, because I treat it very seriously. I don’t want to seem stingy or conservative. How should I handle the situation?

Fight for the right: Political battles over marijuana reach new level

This November, Colorado voters will decide whether cannabis rights should be expanded beyond medical patients and find a legal home with those who simply enjoy it as a recreational high. Though some in the LGBT community find Amendment 64 – which would put marijuana on a legal playing field with alcohol – to be a dishonor to those who require the plant for debilitating conditions.

Colorado voters to play pivotal role in presidential race, prospects for civil unions

Colorado voters will play a decisive role in relationship recognition rights when they decide who will represent them at the state Capitol. On the same ballot, Coloradans will choose between President Barack Obama who says he still has work to do, and his Republican challenger Gov. Mitt Romney who thinks Obama’s wasted four years.

Travel: Dionysian discoveries in Sitges, Spain

When I arrived it was cold and grey, with most shops closed and only a few smattering of people walking down the street. Looking for some sign of life, I headed to the beach, where impressively tan and sculpted Spanish men languished in immodest Speedos.
