M Uptown hosting TurnAbout drag show to benefit Hey Denver

M Uptown, formerly known as Hamburger Mary’s, is showing that even though the named changed the local drag restaurant has no intention of fading into the background.

In fact, they are showing their dedication to the community as they host a staff turnaround drag show, pulling in money for Hey Denver. Hey Denver is a collaborative effort between Denver Colorado AIDS Project and Denver Public Health Outreach non-profit community-based organization that provides free sexual health services and sexually transmitted infection testing.

The show will feature staff members from M Uptown throwing on wigs, wiggling into heels, drawing on those eyebrows, and sissy-ing their way through performances. All tips collected and the $5 suggested donation at the door will also go towards Hey Denver, who will be at the show handing out information and talking to people throughout the night.

“I think it’s really important to show some love to the non-profits that really are trying to help our communities,” Taylor Herbert, M Uptown manager, said. “That’s really why we wanted to do something like this.”

The show will be hosted by Morgan Summers, prodigy of Jackie Summers, and will feature fun, amateur queens who are ready to slay the M Uptown stage.

“Honestly, it’s just going to be a fun show. I don’t want to give anything away, but come prepared to tip because M Uptown knows how to throw a party,” Taylor said.

You better werq, gurls!
