Holiday Frivolity at the 2021 Denver Christkindlmarket

Christkindlemarket

For more than three decades, the Denver Christkindlmarket has been home to some of the best holiday season frivolity in the metro area. Now open daily until December 23, you can enjoy the spirit (and spirits) of the season at Civic Center Park.

With the sounds of live, holiday music filling the air, guests can savor authentic St. Christopher’s Glühwein (mulled spiced wine), German Biers from Denver’s Prost Brewing Company, and hot chocolate with Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur, as well as Mozart Chocolate Liqueur and yummy traditional family recipes from across Europe.

The Denver Christkindlmarket recreates the joy of strolling a European village square during the holidays.  Located at the festively lit Civic Center Park, just reopened after extensive renovations and improvements, you will experience the region’s only authentic German Holiday Market, produced by the German American Chamber of Commerce – Colorado Chapter. Best of all, no international passport is required!

Returning this year is the Bank of America Festival Hall, a large, heated tent to enjoy food and beverage while enjoying live performances. Daily entertainment will also take place at the Greek Amphitheater Stage including German polka music, German traditional dancers, holiday hymns in multiple languages, accordion and bluegrass music, high school bands, and much more.

It’s the ideal place to take a break from shopping for unique, finely crafted artisan gifts sold by 35-plus independent local and international merchants in charming wooden huts.

Special events and theme days are scheduled throughout the market including Canine Christmas on December 2, when you can bring your fur baby for pics with St. Nicholas; Krampus Nacht on December 5, when the Bavarian horned alpine creature is on the search for bad children; ‘70s Night on December 9 and ‘80s Night on December 16, and the always-popular Ugly Sweater Day on December 15, when you can show off your bad taste.

From our app store, download the new Denver Christkindlmarket app to keep up with entertainment schedules, special events and other promotions during the market.

Last year during the pandemic, the Denver Christkindlmarket was one of the only holiday markets worldwide to safely open and operate. All the long lines and waits to enter the market are gone this year.

Winner of Denver’s A-List as the “Best Festival” in Denver in 2019, it was also voted a Top Five  “Best Holiday Market” in the Country by USA Today.

The hours of the Denver Christkindlmarket are Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday through Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thanksgiving Day from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and from December 17 to 23, the Market is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
