You’re Invited to the Biggest, Queerest Wedding of the Year

queer wedding

Engaged for 11 months and together for almost four-and-half years, these two want to share their queer wedding with everyone online. OUT FRONT wants everyone to know you’re invited to the biggest, queerest, wedding of the year!

Saturday, August 29 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST, Chaya Milchtein, also known as MechanicShopFemme, automotive educator, radical body love advocate, and automotive industry writer, is getting married to Jodyann Morgan.

Milchein can tell you a thing or to about how to change a tire, oil, and transmission. She can also help if you’re looking for a used car that isn’t a complete piece of garbage. She is an LGBTQ person who wants individuals to love their bodies just the way it is and to enjoy some queer giggles along the way.

Due to COVID-19, they cannot have the LGBTQ community be there in person. Just because they cannot share it with the community in person, they still want to share their wedding love virtually.

The couple did not have something specific in mind for their special day. But, that would not stop them from making their queer wedding happen. Neither of their parents support the marriage, so it’s important to them to celebrate with friends. They experienced a rollercoaster of emotions, both excitement and grievance.

On Facebook, they wrote:

“We are opening up our wedding as a form of respite to all of you. A little break from the troubles of the world. A hour of joy, celebration and tears of course. Come toast out love, listen to our vows and celebrate this momentous occasion from the comfort of your living room.”

If you cannot attend their virtual wedding, you can watch it after the fact on Facebook. There are also a cash app account and Venmo linked to their event page if you want to contribute in other ways. Click the link to RSVP, and if you attend, do not forget to tell OUT FRONT what you think.
