Short Film for Kids: Operation Marriage
by clear hat
December 29, 2014
Operation Marriage was first released as a children’s book that examined same-sex marriage, and the impact of the book was strong enough to inspire a short film.
The story takes place in 2008, when Prop 8 was about to be voted on in the upcoming election. The children have lost a friend due to their same-sex parentage, and they don’t understand why their mothers won’t get married. Through coercion and puppy-dog-eyes, the kids convince their mothers to tie the knot and show pride in their union.
