Offensive Alabama License Plate Recalled

A photo of an Alabamian license plate went viral this week, as it bore the offensive slogan, “No Homo.” The phrase is most used when a person does not want to be equated with a homosexual regardless of their current behavior.

In 2013, the NBA player Roy Hibbert was fined $75,000 for his use of the slur.

Today, The Alabama Department of Revenue announced that it would recall the license plate, after they became aware of its vulgarity and internet presence. The plate made it through their three-member review panel without notice.
