Nick Jonas’ Kingdom Character Revealed to be Gay

In a Buzzfeed exclusive, Nick Jonas talked about why he was proud to be playing a gay character on his DirecTV show, Kingdom. There have been rumors that this may happen, and they were confirmed during the season finale.

Jonas’ character, Nate, was thrown out of a gay bar when he drunkenly hooked up with another man outside.

As for whether Nate will come out to friends and family anytime soon, it’s not looking likely: “Just because we’ve seen a truth about Nate doesn’t mean anyone else has,” Balasco [Kingdom creator] said. “The bigger issue for Nate is not what everybody else will think but his perception of what everybody else is going to think.”
