Gritty Rock Live! Hits the Road for Virtual U.S. Tour

Empowered women take the stage with electric guitars and fishnets, reveling in the music via livestream. Gritty In Pink, the platform for female musicians and entertainers, is hosting a live, virtual tour throughout July and August. The tour will start in New York City and end up in Los Angeles, hitting six other major cities along the way. Local, female artists from each leg of the tour are being encouraged to apply with a video snippet of their band. The deadline for new applications is tomorrow, June 25.

Gritty In Pink originated in Los Angeles as a live concert series for women who love to rock out, quickly garnering support and success on the west coast. Since the COVID-19 pandemic swept the United States, organizers have redesigned concerts to an online platform. Every show maintains the essence of a live performance but now consists of weekly, themed shows streamed through Instagram. The new livestream show is called Gritty Rock Live! and features female bands and artists from across the country.

Gritty Rock Live! features a live charity fundraiser, sponsors giveaways, intimate performances, artist interviews, and audience engagement. Artists of diverse backgrounds come together to immerse themselves in the virtual community space and support one another while social distancing. The tour will be an opportunity to expand the Gritty In Pink network and highlight badass, female-powered bands on a broader scale than ever before! Founder Shira Yevin has always advocated for carving out spaces where women can shine amidst a male-dominated industry. During such a fragile time, that mission is more important than ever.

“While we miss our magical, monthly events in L.A., one advantage of going digital has been the ability to include artists from all locations. We feel, now more than ever, the country needs to come together, and this is an awesome opportunity to unite and connect female artists of all genres and backgrounds. The bill will be a mix of curated and submitted talent. Since we can’t tour the country due to the pandemic, this is the next best way to see America this summer!”
