The social networking site, Google Plus will be offering a fill-in feature that allows users to type whatever they’d like to define their gender. Google Plus accounts are linked to Gmail accounts, and will offer gender options of “male,” “female,” “decline to state,” and “custom” with the custom option bringing in the open text field and an option to click pronoun preferences of “masculine,” “feminine,” or “gender non-specific.”

There is also an option to choose to whom you’d allow to disclose your gender information.

The feature is not yet available to everyone, but will be within a few days.
