Boulder to continue issuing same-sex marriage licenses
by clear hat
July 10, 2014
A judge ruled Thursday to reject the request from Attorney General John Suthers to prevent Boulder from issuing same-sex marriage licenses until the Supreme Court ruling. Instead, Boulder may continue to issue licenses as it has done for more than 100 same-sex couples so far.
Boulder District Court Judge Andrew Hartman ruled that Suthers did not meet the burden of proof showing same-sex marriage licenses were harmful in any way for couples or for Colorado. This ruling comes one day after Colorado’s same-sex marriage ban was ruled unconstitutional.
It would seem things are heating up on the Colorado marriage equality front.
