Superman is super gay! You heard it: g-a-y. Superman becomes yet another superhero in the DC universe to come out as queer.
For decades, Superman has hit the shelves and screens in every form of media possible. DC Comics revealed they’ve been fighting to keep the character trademarked since he’s so old. Their solution to the problem is simple—kill off Clark Kent.
Jon Kent, who goes by his superhero alias “Superboy,” is the son of Clark Kent and reporter Lois Jane. After the fall of Clark Kent, Jon Kent will step up to fill his father’s shoes, and later come out as gay. Allegedly, this monumental switch will be happening in the upcoming novel Superman: Son of Kal-El.
Former DC Comic artist Evan Van Sciver dropped some major tea on his popular Youtube show ComicArtistPro Secrets, saying: “I just found out; I got a little bit of a scoop about what DC’s plans are. Nobody knows this yet. It hasn’t really been announced, except by me. Clark Kent, I guess, is going bye-bye, and they are going to replace him with Jonathan Kent, and then they are going to announce that Jonathan Kent is gay. So Superman is effectively gay, everyone. He is gay.”
This may come as a disappointment for all the gays who’ve jumped the gun and assumed Clark was coming out. It would have been more scandalous, since in a comic previously published by DC Comics, Superman “came out” as Clark Kent to be an inspiration to teens who come out as gay. A fan dubbed Jon Kent as “Super Gay Man” in the comment section on twitter and even joked that pink kryptonite is what “turned him gay.”
//This is wholesome. Superman coming out to the world by revealing his secret identity, inspired a young man to also come out to his family as a proud Gay.
