OFM Gallery: Mannequin Pussy at Summit

With almost half a million listeners on Spotify, Mannequin Pussy is a Philadelphia punk band that was formed back in 2010 by friends Marisa Dabice and Athanasios Paul. The band currently consists of Marisa “Missy” Dabice as lead vocalist and guitarist, bassist Colins “Bear” Regisford, drummer Kaleen Reading, and guitarist Maxine Steen. The band released its first album, Mannequin Pussy in 2014, followed by Romantic in 2016, Patience in 2019, and their EP titled Perfect in 2019.

In 2020, the band began to turn its music into a full-time gig, as it began touring following the release of its acclaimed album Patience. Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit in March of 2020, its tour was cut short, and live music as we knew it came to a halt. Luckily the band is back touring again, and OFM had the pleasure of seeing Mannequin Pussy play at Summit Denver on October 5, 2023, alongside Movements, Softcult, and Heart to Gold.

The crowd went crazy as it kicked off the show with their hit single “Romantic” released in 2016. The band’s style has evolved over the years, creating a variety in the show that kept the audience hooked. The combination of Mannequin Pussy’s signature hardcore style and catchy, pop-esque vibe, alongside its energetic and outgoing stage presence, created an unforgettable night for the Denver punk scene. It performed its newest single “I Got Heaven” released in August of 2023, and ended the night with their song “Pigs Is Pigs” from their EP Perfect sung by Colins as he tore up the stage with his vocals closing out a memorable show.
