On April 23, City Winery in Nashville, Tennessee hosted a Drag Brunch Fundraiser benefitting Nashville Pride. Attendees enjoyed an elevated dining experience with live drag performers along with a specialty brunch menu. Not only did I get the chance to photograph this special event, I was invited backstage to see how the performers transformed into queens.
If you think getting into drag is easy, a lot goes into being that glamorous. From corsets to press-on nails, seeing the joy in the crowds face proved how uplifting and powerful the art of drag can be regardless of the many hours of details it takes to make things perfect.
The performances were no less perfect than the performers. The crowd raged as the queens danced around the aisles graciously accepting the bills while singing their favorite songs! See how these Southern queens get down.
