OFM Gallery: Cold War Kids at the Gothic Theater

Cold War Kids is celebrating its 20th anniversary by hitting the road on tour, and OFM had the chance to attend a show at the Gothic Theater on February 10. We had the chance to catch both old and new songs from this legendary California-based band composed of singer, guitarist and pianist, Nathan Willett; bassist Matt Maust; drummer Joe Plummer; keyboard player Matthew Schwartz; and guitarist David Quon.

Indie artist Hovvdy opened the show with a little Austin, Texas twang, teasing highly anticipated new music. Since the release of their self-titled album in November of 2023, the Cold War Kids have been amping up to play these hit songs live. The band has formed quite the fan base in Denver, so they made sure to switch up the setlist for the veteran fans who attended both nights of their Denver leg. Fan favorites like “Hang Me Up To Dry” from their album Robbers and Cowards (2007), and “Miracle Mile” from their album Dear Miss Lonely Hearts (2012), had the crowd singing louder than Nathan Willett!
