Updated Facebook Policies Regarding Hate Speech
We’ve all seen some shady business on Facebook. And if you haven’t well…you’re probably just oblivious. Well, Facebook has updated its guidelines to clarify its policies on hate speech, nudity and other potentially offensive topics.
Now, Facebook users will be allowed to directly flag offensive content (ie; homophobic, racist, sexist, etc.) as “hate speech” and not just “harassment.” According to Facebook, hate speech will include content that directly attacks people for race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disabilities, or gender identity.
Bravo, Facebook!
