Meow Wolf to Open New Exhibition in Los Angeles

Meow Wolf, the artistic company known for their immersive and surreal environments, has announced a new opening in Los Angeles for their sixth permanent exhibition space, which will be open in 2026 in a movie theater.

“For years, we’ve made trips to Los Angeles, dreaming of creating something in its layered and ever-changing network of creativity,” says Sean Di Ianni, co-founder of Meow Wolf and senior creative director of Meow Wolf Los Angeles. “L.A. is more than a physical place; it extends deep into the global landscape of human imagination, constantly pushing its own bounds. Meow Wolf Los Angeles will stretch these cinematic horizons by weaving together an unpredictable tapestry of art, story, and interactivity.”

The project is set out to be a “multidimensional reality” with its signature style of maximalism but with a twist of Hollywood, including cinematic grandeur, mysterious Easter Eggs, the forgotten side of Hollywood, glamorous glitz, and novel connections to their existing Meow Wolf worlds in other cities. The location plans to collaborate with local artists in California as a love letter to the Los Angeles art scene.

“This is more than an immersive experience,” says Jose Tolosa, CEO of Meow Wolf. “We want it to be a part of the city’s ongoing narrative of growth. Being in Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world, we’re humbled to add to the dynamic interplay between art and entertainment here. Meow Wolf Los Angeles will blur the lines between reality and fantasy, inviting everyone to become part of a living, breathing spectacle.”

Meow Wolf has a deep history within the art community, and its beginning started in Santa Fe in the year 2008. Now they focus on spreading their art while working with scalpers, painters, fabric artists, writers, and even film directors. They try to mix all of these mediums within each exhibit they make.
