Marriage Equality Rally

Support Marriage Equality in Colorado hosted a “Marriage Equality Rally” on April 9th in front of the Byron White United States Courthouse in downtown Denver. Judges in both Utah and Oklahoma recently issued rulings that those state’s marriage amendments defining marriage as only between one man and one woman are unconstitutional. The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, here in Denver, will be hearing the Utah appeal on April 10th and the Oklahoma appeal on April 17th. The rally was organized to help urge the appellate court to uphold the lower courts’ rulings. Colorado State Senator Pat Steadman, GLBT activist Mike Biselli, Restore Our Humanity Communications Director Matt Spencer and One Colorado Executive Director Dave Montez were among the speakers. A ruling is expected later this summer.
