Joe Biden and Kamila Harris More Popular Among LGBTQ Voters
The presidential campaign is less than a month away, and a recent survey finds that LGBTQ registered voters are more likely to vote for Joe Biden than President Trump. Both parities are urging people to vote now more than ever.
The study was conducted by Pathfinder Opinion Research from September 21 through 25t The survey indicates that 74 percent of LGBTQ voters favor Biden over Trump.
Joe Biden’s campaign message says, “that every human being should be treated with respect and dignity and be able to live without fear no matter who they are or who they love.”
In 2012 the Obama Biden term repealed the, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Act” and expressed his advocacy for same sex marriage. Joe Biden says, “Who do you love? Who do you love? And will you be loyal to the person you love? And that’s what people are finding out is what all marriages, at their root, are about,” on Meet The Press.

The Williams Institute did a survey last October among registered, LGBTQ voters. The general population of LBGTQ voters are racially and ethnically diverse and live in urban areas. Around 9 million LGBTQ persons are registered to vote for the 2020 election. There are 21 percent of LGBTQ persons not registered to vote.
The study concluded that 50 percent of those registered voters were democratic; 22 percent are republicans, and 13 percent are independent or are affiliated with another party. Among the registered LGBTQ voters young people make up the majority, “Nearly half (47 percent) of LGBT voters are ages 18-34; one-fifth (20 percent) of LGBT voters are age 55 and older,” according to The 2020 LGBT Vote.
The last day to register to vote in Colorado online or by mail if it is received October 26. Ballot drop-off deadlines are November 3 at 7:00 p.m. depending on your location.
