One of the hottest new trends is blowing up right here in town: Axe Throwing.
Whether it’s an adventurous date night with that special someone, a night out with friends or co-workers, or just a chance to try something new and exciting, veteran-owned Downtown Art Gallery & Axe Room (DAGAR) has an experience for everyone.
DAGAR, Denver’s first axe-throwing venue, is more than just a one-off, thrilling night in a room of twirling metal and flying wood, they are also weaving local elements and ambiance into the fold. They are proud to feature works from local artists throughout their open lounge, and a great selection of craft beer, wine, cider, kombucha, and seltzer from local Colorado breweries behind their bar.
Whether DAGAR is the night’s destination or you just want to swing by for a quick drink and to scope out the new art, the inviting and energized space creates a welcoming feeling for both axe-throwing enthusiasts and the axe-throwing averse.
“The art is a really big draw for us. You don’t have to buy anything to visit and appreciate the seasonal art or the permanent murals that we have on our lanes, which were also done by local artists,” said Thom Spanos, director of DAGAR.
For some local businesses, being a safe space for queer folks is important, and at DAGAR, it is of the utmost value. With several employees who identify as LGBTQ on staff, safety in the axe throwing space incorporates more than just protection from the play equipment. DAGAR sets the bar high and maintains itself as the top choice for axe-throwing experiences in Denver with their safety standards, community-minded practices, and a space for all to enjoy.
