Tyra Banks continues her reality TV reign with a new Discovery+ reality show exploring the world of teenage drag shows. The Dancing with the Stars host and former America’s Next Top Model host will executive produce Generation Drag, according to a Deadline report.

The series follows five teenagers and their families preparing for their biggest drag performances at Dragutante, a Denver drag show made explicitly to provide LGBTQ teens a platform to express themselves. All six episodes are set to drop on June 1.

Local drag teen Ophelia Peaches is one of the five teens Generation Drag will follow and took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. The photo and caption shared information about the new show from Deadline’s coverage, though Ophelia was ever-present in the comments, replying to supporters showing their support.

“In this heartfelt and joyous coming-of-age series, Generation Drag celebrates a group of amazingly talented teens who put their creativity, passion, and talent on center stage,” says Howard Lee, president of TLC Streaming and Network Originals. “Jameson, Noah, Vinny, Bailey, and Nabela may only be in their teens, yet they are well beyond their years in being true to themselves and recognizing the importance of living authentically. Their story is an inspiration to express yourself at any age.”

Banks adds that she has “such admiration” for the teens and commends them for “bravely navigating coming in their own” in our world, which isn’t always accepting of LGBTQ people.

“What is so beautiful is seeing their parents and siblings supporting them,” Banks says. “These teens’ laser-focused tenacity inspires my team and me, and we are honored to share their stories. I can’t wait for these popping personalities to show their fierceness to the world.”

Speaking to OFM in 2019, Ophelia extended her gratitude for her experiences in the community so far.

“If it wasn’t for the community, people like you, even my family, and my drag mother, I wouldn’t be here. Because, again, it’s that support thing. They’re just pushing me up. I feel like I can just rise up and be my best self because of all their love.”

We can’t wait to see Ophelia Peaches on the small screen! Congrats, queen!
