Fifth Annual Back Alley Denver Fetish Fair Today and Tomorrow
The Rocky Mountain Leather Alliance (RMLA) has been a longstanding proud group of passionate leather folks since 2005, focusing on educational, social, and philanthropic events while also advocating for an alliance of the regional, leather, kink, and BDSM communities. Today and tomorrow attendees can attend the RMLA’s fifth annual fetish, kink, and leather fair, Back Alley, Denver.
“At its core, it is an event which facilitates connection. We work hard to provide a space where there is a very low barrier to entry (this event has always been free to attend) where anyone can feel welcome.” RMLA board president Daniel Barnes says. “We facilitate demonstrations, where new folks can experience or watch different types of kink or fetish play. We make space for vendors to connect with potential customers, and for social organizations to reach new audiences. We work with local STI testing organizations to help educate people on making informed decisions about their sexual health.”
Event attendees can participate in chance drawings to win gift certificates and merchandise from a variety of kink vendors, can take part in free HIV and HEP C testing provided by both Hey Denver and Denver Health, and can additionally connect with local nonprofits and different social groups including but not limited to the Denver Boys of Leather, the Leather Colorado Foundation and ONYX.
Since its start in 2017, the Back Alley fair has focused on raising money to give back to the local community as a fundraiser for RMLA. In 2020 though the event was virtual, over $2000 was raised and donated to a variety of local organizations and bars to help them stay financially afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Back Alley, Denver is our biggest event of the year,” Barnes states. “It is important that anyone can come and get involved. Whether you’re the kind of person that gets tied up in rope every weekend, or you’ve just been watching ‘How to Build A Sex Room’ with curiosity, this is a space for you.”
Back Alley Denver takes place both today and tomorrow between 2:30-8:00pm, at the parking lot behind Trade (475 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO). “Trade has been the home for this event since its inception, and they have been an incredible host and partner.” Barnes mentions. “They provide an incredible space which is always leather and kink friendly, and we love collaborating with their staff.” The free fair welcomes anyone interested in leather, BDSM, kink, bondage, and notes that while the event is being hosted at a gay bar, all gender identities and sexualities are welcome.
