Bringing Spain to Denver: Spain’s Basque Country (northern Spain, bordering France) is known for its uniquely independent culture, language, and, of course, food (the town of San Sebastián alone has one of the highest number of Michelin-starred restaurants per square meter, more than Paris!), in part thanks to the vibrant wines and pintxos/tapas culture. The talented culinary and wine teams at Barcelona Wine Bar (2900 Larimer St., Denver) are bringing the spirit of San Sebastián to Denver with an immersive wine-and-food-paired evening. Chef Greyson Kindy will take guests on an immersive experience through the drinks and tastes of Basque country with wines, ciders, and food from the region. The casually fun and energetic cocktail-style party will include Ameztoi, Hijo de Rubentis with savory gilda pintxos; Isastegi, Basque Cider with hen of the woods croquettas; Ulacia, Txakolina Blanco with bacalao stuffed piquillo peppers; Ameztoi, Stimatum Txaklonia Tinto with chorizo pintxos, and a Porrón full of the special Basque in the Sun cocktail.
