Conservative Dating App The Right Stuff Gives New Meaning to ‘Swipe Right’
Co-founders of The Right Stuff dating app—John McEntee, Daniel Huff, and Isaac Stalzer—backed by conservative tech billionaire Peter Thiel, want to make sure users are swiping right, but only on the people who see the world “the right way.”
Ryann McEnany, app spokesperson and sister to the Trump administration’s White House press secretary, says in an advertorial video, “We’re sorry that you’ve had to endure years of bad dates and wasted time with people that don’t see the world our way, the right way.”

A separate promotional video for the app, titled “No More Bad Dates,” showcases three dates. The first includes a man disclosing his preference not to have children due to environmental concerns; during the second, a man forgets his gift card and asks his date to pay, and in the third, the woman’s date arrives on his bike and says, “Sorry I’m late, you can ride on the front pegs if you want to get wild.”
The video concludes with, “Start going out with normal guys.”
John Driscoll, founder and CEO of Naked Development, the company developing The Right Stuff, says in a YouTube interview, “What’s happening is people are generally not very much on the conservative side on dating apps, and so people are finding this to be a big problem. So, Peter Thiel funded $1.5 million into this new app… Some people will want to be on this.”
He also states that the app is, “getting a lot of controversy.”
Huff tells The Hill that the app is for, “all types of conservatives and all types of dating,” but according to McEnany, this might not be the case. After she describes the ins and outs of the app’s premium version in the advertorial video—free for “ladies” who invite a few friends and available for purchase for “gentlemen”—she states, “And by the way, those are the only two options, ladies and gentlemen.”
Also, below the “Getting back to normal” tagline on The Right Stuff’s website, it explains that gender pronouns will not be included on the platform’s user profiles with the phrase, “View profiles without pronouns…”
However, The Hill reports, although the app is focused on heterosexual relationships, it may extend that focus to include same-gender relationships in the future, according to Huff. He continues, “It’s an important, underserved market. Liberals own the education, media corporations, and we can’t let them control our personal relationships.”
The invite-only-based dating app geared toward “those who know traditional is attractive” and want to “connect with people who aren’t offended by everything” launches in September.
“We’re excited to launch The Right Stuff dating app this summer,” McEntee told Axios in February. “Conservatives deserve an easy way to connect.”
