7th Circuit Court of Appeals hears arguments regarding same-sex marriage bans

Today, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals listened to arguments regarding the same-sex marriage bans in Indiana and Wisconsin.

The judges wasted no time in interrupting the lawyers and steering the conversation in a productive and tough argument.

7th Circuit Judges Richard Posner, Ann Claire Williams, and David Hamilton seemed prepared to strike down the marriage bans, but were looking for the best argument behind their reasoning.

The lawyers defending the ban used the arguments of “tradition,” “legislative choice,” and “procreation,” all of which were torn down by the judges.
