Castle Rock Plans First Pride

Big little cities all across Colorado are putting out a call to the queer community to come see just how inviting and welcoming they truly are. In 2019, the mid-state town nestled between Littleton and Colorado Springs by the name of Castle Rock is making a statement of LGBTQ inclusion by throwing their first ever Castle Rock Pride.

The one-day, free event to be held on August 24 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. is an all-ages, family-friendly afternoon to foster positive support, acceptance, and equality for the queer residents.

Entertainment by DJ Solar Daddy, Alice Glamoure, and Lindsey Giffey, fun activities like drag queen story hour and button making, and more than 30 vendors and food trucks, will surely give Castle Rock a fresh, rainbow makeover.

Building community is the mission of Castle Rock Pride, and the area continues to do that work all year ’round by offering a variety of community events and resources including monthly support groups, family meet-ups, educational opportunities, and an annual Pride Picnic.
